FujiFilm FinePix F800EXR 20x Zoom Camera with WiFi

FujiFilm has just introduced the new FinePix F800EXR long-zoom digital camera as the follow-up to the F770EXR. The camera is equipped with a 16 Megapixel BSI (Back Side Illuminated) EXR CMOS sensor and a Fujinon 20x optical zoom 25mm wide angle lens, and features the Intelligent Digital Zoom to extend the zoom range to 40x.

Along with the EXR sensor, EXT AUTO function is included to automatically selects the optimum shooting mode from 103 patterns, and there is Intelligent Image Stabilization to reduce blurring and noise for improved image quality. In case you want to take more control yourself, you can use EXR HR (High Resolution), EXR DR (Dynamic Range) and EXR SN (Signal to Noise) modes.

 Another main features of the F800EXR is its built-in WiFi connectivity that allows for Wireless Image Transfer. Using the free FujiFilm Photo Receiver app, you can wireless send images from the camera to your Android or iOS smartphones or tablets; and the FujiFilm Camera Application, also free, allows you to transfer images, browse and view photos on the camera and geotag photos with location data from smartphone. The camera itself has a 3-inch LCD display with Monitor Sunlight Mode.

The FinePix F800EXR comes with Advanced Filter offering six artistic special effects, such as Pop Color, Toy Camera, Miniature, Dynamic Tone, for users to add creative expression to photos. It is capable of Full HD 1920×1080 video recording and has Automatic Scene Selection function. You can also find Motion Panorama 360 shooting function, Film Simulation mode and RAW shooting support.

FujiFilm will release black model, which has a rubber coating, in the US in August for $349.95.

Sony DT55-300mm F4.5-5.6 SAM Telephoto Zoom Lens for Alpha A-Mount Cameras

Sony announced the new DT55-300mm F4.5-5.6 SAM (model SAL55300) telephoto zoom lens for Alpha A-mount cameras with APS-C sensor. The lens has a 55mm-300mm ( 35mm equivalent 83-450mm) focal length, which is about 5.5x magnification range.

The SAL55300 features Smooth Autofocus Motor (SAM) for high-speed and smooth auto focus, and ED (Extra-Low Dispersion) glass element that reduces color aberrations for improved image quality at medium to long focal lengths.

Samsung EX2F WiFi Smart Digital Camera

Here comes another WiFi-capable digital camera, the Samsung EX2F Smart camera. It boasts a 12.4 Meagapixel BSI CMOS image sensor and a 3.3x optical zoom lens with 24mm wide angle and F1.4. The camera is capable of 1080p Full HD video recording with streo sound and has a 3-inch swivel AMOLED display and HDMI output that allows users to show HD videos on a big screen HDTV. It features Optical and Digital dual image stabilization for shooting blur-free images.

With built-in WiFi connectivity, the EX2F can wirelessly transfer photos to PC or to the cloud, and even share images to social network sites such as Facebook or Picasa. It also includes Mobile Link for pairing with smartphone for photo transfer; and Remote Viewfinder function that can use the screen smartphone as viewfiner. The camera has a SMART LINK button for one-touch photo transfer and sharing.

Samsung’s EX2F supports shooting in RAW and offers aperture and shutter priority modes and full manual control. It has 3D Panorama, Smart Audio, Split Shot modes, and Magic Frame with 12 background templates for you to personalize your photos. It uses SD/SDHC/SDXC cards.

First DSLR 4K video from prototype Canon EOS-1D C reportedly emerges

If you've been wondering what kind of eye candy Canon's EOS-1D C is capable of, you might be in luck. The crew over at EOSHD have apparently snagged some 4K sample footage from an early prototype of the unreleased, professional-grade DSLR. The clip looks slick to us, albeit lacking in the scenery department. Even so, EOSHD comments that while a "massive step up for image quality compared to all previous DSLRs" the video footage isn't as sharp as stills from the 1D X (the 1D C's less-endowed sibling) and "not near what true 4K should look like." (Of course, anyone looking for true 4K is advised to step up to Sony's $70k F65 CineAlta, so we guess you get what you pay for). JVC ADIXXION GC-XA1 Quad-proof Rugged Action Camera

JVC introduces in the UK the ADIXXION GC-XA1, a quad-proof rugged action camera. With a heavy-duty design for use without housing, the camera is quad-proof -waterproof to a depth of 5m (16.4 ft), shockproof to withstand a fall from 2m (6.5ft) high, dustproof and freezeproof. It also has a scratch-resistant rubber texture.

The ADIXXION is equipped with a 5 Megapixel CMOS image sensor and a super wide angle lens. It is capable of Full HD 1920×1080/30p recording, and capturing 5 Megapixel still images. The built-in WiFi connectivity allows you to transfer images to computer wirelessly, and even stream “live” HD videos in realtime to USTREAM without a PC. JVC’s action camera has 5x digital zoom and digital image stabilizer, and supports Time-Lapse REC to record a frame at a time at intervals of 1 or 5 seconds. It has a HDMI output so you can bring HD video to a HDTV  for sharing with family and friend. It uses SD/SDHC/SDXC memory card for storage.

As a action camera, the ADIXXION GC-XA1 comes with a goggle mount for attaching to goggle strap with supplied screws. a flexible mount that adheres to flat or curved surface with supplied 3M double-sided tape, two lens protectors and a LCD protection film to prevent the 1.5-inch LCD display for scratches. The Wi-Video PC software is included with the camera, and Android and iOS apps are also available for use with the action camera.

Coming in late Summer, the JVC ADIXXION GC-XA1 will be available for $349.95.

Canon Announces New DSLR Camera- EOS Rebel T4i

 

The EOS Rebel T4i DSLR 18 MP camera was announced by Canon with a new CMOS APS-C lens, improved performance and a multi touch LCD. Two new lenses compactly with all APS-C DSLR Canon cameras are also included in the Canon EOS Rebel T4i digital SLR camera kit. With improved autofocus and performance than the T3i, the new DSLR camera is a decent pick for professional photographers.

Features

The T4i provides native support for ISO 100 to ISO 12800, and you can shoot at ISO 25600 using an expanded setting. Autofocus uses a 9-point high precision f/2.8 dual cross focal point in the centre. A new feature is the use of autofocus automatically while shooting videos in Live View using STM lenses, which automatically adjusts for improved contrast.

New Lenses

The new EF-S 18 to 135mm f/3.5 to 5.6 IS STM lens priced at $549.99 included along with the kit uses a stepper motor thus reducing noise while focusing while video recording. Along with this lens, the cameras will cost $1199 while with the standard EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5 to 5.6 IS II lens the gadgets cost $949.99. The other DSLR STM lens- EF 40 mm f/2.8 coming at $199.99 is small, compact and has a faster aperture comparatively.

Olympus Releases 75mm f/1.8 Micro Four-Thirds Lens

While all the SLR and DSLR has their own range of prime lenses, the micro four-third cameras do not until recently. Olympus is one of the first few imaging companies that managed to create a prime lens for its range of micro four-thirds camera and the 75mm f/1.8 prime lens is a good one that you can certainly look at.

 

The 75mm f/1.8 is a certainly interesting lens and when equipped to a micro four-third camera, you will get a focal length of roughly 150mm due to the crop factor found in all of the cameras. The good thing about this lens is that it will work rather well under low lighting conditions and this is thanks to the wide aperture that Olympus has managed to put inside this lens. As far the elements available inside the lens, there are 10 different elements from 9 different groups and some of these work to reduce chromic aberrations found in certain lenses.

In addition to the 75mm lens, there is also a splash and dust-proof 60mm f/2.8 macro lens. The 75mm is estimated to be released sometime in summer with a price tag of $900. As far as its purpose is concerned, Olympus claims it to be a winner in both movie and still shots.

Leica releases M Monochrom camera, shoots only B&W

Leica cameras are certainly one of the best in the market but it also carries a hefty price tag. In addition to that, not many people are willing to spend thousands of dollars in a camera that can only shoot black and white photos but if you are one of them, read on. This is because Leica had released the M Monochrom camera and there is one unique thing that is available here that isn’t present in any other digital camera.

 

The Leica M Monochrom comes with a B&W sensor which means that you can only take black and white on this baby. However, as it removes the color filters, it allows for sharper and more detailed images. In fact, you can push the ISO till up to 10,000. It should also be noted that the M Monochrome has a full-frame CCD sensor.

The price tag for the body only is at $8,000. A 50mm f/2 Summicron lens will add another $7,200 to the price. With this hefty price tag, we aren’t sure the type of audience that would want to get the M Monochrom especially when it is an enthusiast-only camera. Nevertheless, if you have around $15,000 to spare, then feel free to get the M Monochrom and tell us how it performs later on.

Nikon Includes the D3200 to its DSLR Camera Line

Nikon today introduced one more camera to its low-end DSLR range. Nikon hopes that the sales figures will zoom up with this reasonably priced camera. Many of you may recall that the company’s D3100 was a great camera, but a tad bit too expensive if you were looking for entry-level cameras. Well, the D3200 seeks to complement its predecessor, without trying to overshadow it.

Looks-Wise

The Nikon D3200 looks very much like its predecessor, the D3100. Solidly built and yet lightweight, this one is easy to carry around on all of your trips. 

Features-Wise

The black-bodied D3200 will include an 18-55mm lens, a nice resolution upgrade to 24 megapixels (the more expensive D3100, in comparison, offered only 14 megapixels), higher resolution LCD display, Expeed 3 processing engine and more flexibility of options in low-light conditions. 

Guide Mode

The Nikon 3200 also comes with a better Guide Mode, which offers very detailed tutorials to DSLR beginners. Of course, this feature cannot be used all the time – it merely works as a reference guide. All the same, this feature is certainly useful to amateurs wanting to pick up the basics of photography. 

WiFi Dongle

One very important feature that sets the D3200 apart from its earlier generation camera is the WU-1A WiFi dongle, which is worth $60. This will enable you to beam your photos straightaway to your Android smartphone or mobile device. This feature will later be available to iOS device users as well, in just a few more months.

The Nikon D3200, priced at $700, is scheduled to enter the market at the end of April this year.
